PRESCRIPTIONS

The Haven Surgery is a dispensing practice. Patients who live in the village and surrounding areas are able to obtain medication that is prescribed by the doctors at the Surgery.

Dispensing times for repeat prescriptions

MONDAY
TUESDAY
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
2:30pm-4:00pm
2:30pm-4:00pm
CLOSED
2:30pm-4:00pm
2:30pm-4:00pm

Above are the times when repeat prescriptions will be dispensed. Unfortunately, we cannot dispense repeat prescriptions during surgery times, because of the pressure of other work.

In the interest of your safety, two dispensers check all medication. We also request that children are not sent to the surgery to collect medication. If you require them to do so you must either phone the surgery on the day they will be collecting them or give them a dated, signed letter authorising us to give the child the medications. If your authorisation is not given, the dispensers may not dispense the medication to children.

Ordering repeat prescriptions in advance

Two working day's notice is required for staff to order and assemble your medication, as many patients use this option. Please use the medication slips given to you by the staff and tick all medication that is required. If you are unable to wait two days for your medication, you or your representative must come for them during dispensing times.

Ordering by phone

If ordering by telephone, please phone after 11:00am (this allows time for patients to make surgery appointments) and have your medication slips on hand to spell the names if you are unable to pronounce them.

Patients living outside the dispensing area must have their prescriptions dispensed at a local pharmacy. One day's notice is required to order your signed prescription. These can be collected from the Surgery, or we can post them to you if you leave some stamped addressed envelopes. Please allow one week for the postal system to work.

Lanchester patients may have their repeat prescriptions delivered to the pharmacy there on Tuesday and Friday evenings, after evening surgery has finished. If prescriptions are required at any other time, patients must make their own arrangements to collect the prescriptions.
