Anticoagulation (INR) Clinic
This clinic is run by Anita Burdon, Community Pharmacist on a Tuesday morning between 9.00am & 11.00am.
INR (International Normalised Ratio) is a system established for reporting the result of blood clotting tests. Following this test some patients are required to take Warfarin in order to thin their blood.
In this clinic, the Pharmacist will use a finger stick to draw blood and carry out the INR test. Results will be available immediately and dosages of warfarin are adjusted to maintain an adequate INR level.
Home visits will be done by the Community Pharmacist after the clinic. The Pharmacist will arrange her own appointments.
