CIRCUMCISION SERVICE
The Haven Surgery now offers a circumcision service for male babies for religious or cultural reasons, from the ages of 4 - 24 weeks.
This service is not for circumcisions for medical reasons
The procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic injection using the PlastiBell technique, thus avoiding the risks and complications of general anaesthetic.
This provides a quick, safe and relatively painless procedure with quick recovery time as stitches are not required.
Dr Rina Miah, MBBS, DCH, MRCGP (Distinction), leads this service and will undertake the circumcision procedure on a planned booking basis.
Dr Miah has trained extensively and been certified by Mr Shah, lead consultant urologist at Bradford, where this procedure is routinely performed. She will be assisted by a female nurse.
Dr Rina Miah is able to speak Bengali and Urdu, and will interpret if this is required.
This service is not covered by the National Health Service; therefore a charge of £230 is necessary.
