APPOINTMENTS
Appointments
Can be made for morning or evening surgeries.
Morning Times : Mon-Fri 8:30am to 12:30pm
Evening Times : Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri 2:00pm to 5:30pm
The Surgery doors open and appointments begin at 8:45 am. The answering machine is switched off in the surgery at 8:00am to allow patients to phone for an appointment.
Patients may express a preference to see a specific doctor; where possible this will be accommodated.
Appoinment Cancellations
If you have an appoinment with the doctor or nurse and you no longer require it please telephone and let us know. Doctor and nurse time is valuable. It is your responsibility to cancel appointments.
Home Visits
Wherever possible, we encourage the patients to come to the surgery. In the event that all appointments are taken, for a true emergency, arrangements will be made to see you at the end of the surgery. If a house call is necessary, please inform the Surgery before 10:00am. Please do not ask for a house call after 2:00pm, unless it is an emergency, as this will delay the start of evening surgery.
Patients who demand a home visit because they cannot obtain an appointment will be asked to register with another practice which may be able to serve their needs better.
Telephone Consultations
If you don't want to see the doctor, but wish to consult by telephone, please leave your telephone number and some details with the receptionist. The doctor will return your call as soon as possible.
Out of Hours Services (Evenings / Weekends / Bank holidays)
Phone : 01207 214707. The out of hours service is now run by Derwentside PCT. A message on the answering machine will tell you which number to ring to get in touch with NHS Direct - 0845 4647. If a visit is required after 6:30pm, it is unlikely to be your own doctor who calls.
